Our Vision and Values

Antioch’s Vision

The vision of the Antioch Fellowship Church is to produce a family of faith that has a burden for reaching the unchurched in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas; the surrounding suburbs of Oak Cliff and eventually “the uttermost parts of the earth.”

Antioch’s Slogan

“A Church Commanded, Commissioned and Committed to spreading the Good News in bad, sad and mad times.

Mark 12:30, 31 says, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Matthew 28:19 says, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

Antioch’s Identity

Our desire is to view the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church from the same perspective as God views it. The desire of Antioch Fellowship is to become known as a “Great Church with a Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.”

Antioch’s Philosophy of Ministry

Application of Scripture

We believe that the application of the Word of God to our individual lives will move us into the knowledge of knowing God’s will and way for our lives (Psalm 119:59-60 & James 1:22).

Non-Traditional Approaches

We believe that we must de-emphasize the traditions of man and focus more on what God desires for us to do (Mark 7:1-13 & Colossians 2:8).

Tithing Church

We believe that the tithing concept is the best systematic approach to giving in the local church. However, the emphasis is to be placed on it being a legitimate process rather than a legalistic principle (Malachi 3:10 & I Corinthians 16:2).

Intercessory Prayer

We believe that we all have the God-given responsibility to lift one another up in prayer (James 5:13-18 & Acts 12:5).

Organized Ministries

We believe if there is not the proper construction of ministries, we will witness the prompt destruction of ministries. Therefore, every ministry of the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church must be thoughtfully planned and organized before it is to be implemented (Proverbs 24:3-4; 30:24-28).

Community Involvement

We believe that we must not limit our ministries to the household of faith. We must get involved in special community projects that help to strengthen the community as a whole (Galatians 6:10).

Handling Conflict

We believe we should handle all church conflict in the spirit of love. We believe that whatever happens in the house can be dealt with among the household members (Colossians 3:12-14 & I Corinthians 6:1-7).

Fellowshipping with One Another

We believe that we should fellowship with one another since we are brothers and sisters in Christ. We believe that fellowshipping with one another increases the bond between one another (Acts 2:42).

Equipping the Saints

We believe God has gifted pastors and teachers for the purpose of perfecting and equipping the saints for service (Ephesians 4:12).

Lay Ministry

We believe that we are not saved by our service but we are saved to serve (Matthew 20:28 & Romans 12:6).

Leading the Lost

We believe that our main focus as a church should not be on substance but souls. We believe every believer should have a burden for souls to be saved (Matthew 28:19-20 & Psalm 126:6).

Operating Biblically

We believe that everything we do at the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church should have the support of Scripture as its foundation (Matthew 7:24-29).

Worship and Praise

We believe that the family of God should come together to celebrate at least on a weekly basis. We also believe that worship and praise is to be done corporately and individually (Psalm 100)

Small Groups

We believe that small group participation is just as important as gathering together corporately. We believe in coming together in small groups to pray, to learn, to encourage, and to share (Acts 4:23-32).

Helping the Needy

We believe that we have a responsibility to help meet the needs of those who are in serious need as much as possible (Matthew 25:32-46).

Investing in Youth

We believe we must invest in our children in order for them to develop into what God desires for them to become in life (Proverbs 22:6).

People Focused

We believe that our primary focus should be on people and not on programs. We believe that we should focus on building the church before focusing on the church building (John 13:34-35 & John 15:12).
