Interceding for Others

 ...praying to God for others

Praying for others is not just busy work. At Antioch, we have have prayer warriors, often found interceding in behalf of others. We are admonished in James 5:16 to "pray for one another". It sounds like a simple request but the Lord urges this upon us because He knows the power of prayer. He knows what prayer can do, not only for the ones for whom we have prayed but for us as well. We need to pray, not to impress God but because it strengthens us and increases our faith. Intercession helps us to see with spiritual eyesight, the needs of others and to lift our voices to God's throne in behalf of others once we see their need.

As a church, prayer is a priority.  That is one of the reasons why we established an intercessory prayer ministry.  The people who serve in this ministry are called "Prayer Warriors." This ministry meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. The Prayer Warriors also assist during The Gathering - our corporate prayer time as a church that is held on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.

Decision Team

Every Sunday, we take time out in our worship services to offer the opportunity for people to place their trust in Jesus as their Savior and Lord (and to subsequently be baptized), or to join our church.

As people respond during what we call the “Invitation,” we have people in place (called Decision Team Members) who will sit with them one-on-one, pray with them, listen to the decision they are making, and then guide them in the orderly steps to be taken.
